Dallas Cowboys have added a second receiver in as many days to their roster, with Allen Hurns joining Deonte Thompson in heading for Arlington.

One day after signing free-agent receiver Thompson, the Cowboys have won the race for Hurns who was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

NFL Network Insider confirmed reports from ESPN earlier in the day that Hurns will join the Cowboys - the terms of the deal reported to be a two-year deal worth up to $12million.

New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers and Baltimore Ravens had all been linked with Hurns with all on the lookout for wide-out reinforcements, something the Cowboys have also been seeking

Cleveland landed Jarvis Landry, the Jets won the race for Prior, while Baltimore have added Michael Crabtree and Torrey Smith was traded to Panthers leaving Dallas' option fast running out.

But the capture of Hurns and Thompson, who was released by the Bills, gives Jason Garrett options in support of veteran Dez Bryant.

Hurns signed a four-year, $40 million extension with Jacksonville in 2016 that included $20 million guaranteed and carried a cap hit of $7 million this year.

Thompson agreed to a one-year deal on Thursday, reportedly worth $2.5 million after putting up career numbers between the Bills and Bears last season.

He had 38 catches for 555 receiving yards and two touchdowns in 16 games, becoming a popular target for the Bills down the stretch.

The Cowboys may not be finished either with free-agent receivers Dontrelle Inman and Justin Hunter scheduled for visits.
