Free agent centre Mike Pouncey has agreed to join the Los Angeles Chargers on a two-year contract.

According to NFL Network, the deal is worth $15m.

Pouncey is a three-time Pro Bowler who was released by the Miami Dolphins last week. He had a contract through the 2020 season but was released last week after declining to take a pay cut.

The 28-year-old has been plagued by serious problems with both hips, and at one time said he feared the issue might be career-ending. But last season he played in all 16 games for the first time since 2012.

Though he can also play guard, Pouncey is likely to play centre for the Chargers with 2017 draft picks Forrest Lamp (38th overall) and Dan Feeney (71st overall) playing either side of him.
