Matthew Stafford threw two touchdown passes as the Detroit Lions stayed in the NFC playoff picture with a 20-10 victory over the Chicago Bears on Saturday night.
Stafford was 25 of 33 for 237 yards and didn't turn the ball over for the first time since Week 11. Bears rookie QB Mitchell Trubisky had a season-high in passing yards (314), but was also intercepted three times.
Detroit (8-6) have now won two straight and need to close the regular season with two more wins to keep their postseason hopes alive.
Their NFC North divisional rival Bears (4-10), meanwhile, have lost six of seven, sealing a third season with double-digit losses in three years under head coach John Fox.
Following two Matt Prater field goals either side of the end of the first quarter, Stafford threw a three-yard touchdown pass to T.J. Jones midway through the second to see the Lions out into a 13-0 lead.
Mike Nugent kicked a 41-yard field goal, following a Theo Riddick fumble, to get the Bears on the scoreboard before the half-time break, but another Stafford TD strike early in the third quarter put the Lions up 20-3.
The Lions QB hit tight end Eric Ebron from eight yards out following the first of cornerback Darius Slay's two interceptions in the game.
The game then drifted somewhat to its inevitable conclusion, though with Trubisky adding a late consolation TD for the Bears, with a nine-yard scoring strike to Benny Cunningham.
