The Buffalo Bills have benched quarterback Tyrod Taylor and will start rookie Nathan Peterman against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

Taylor was pulled from Sunday's clash against the New Orleans Saints, which saw him and the Bills offense struggle and eventually fall to a heavy 47-10 defeat.

He suffered one of the worst performances of his career, completing only 9-of-18 pass attempts for 56 yards while also being sacked twice and intercepted.

Peterman took over in the fourth quarter and completed seven passes, also engineering Buffalo's only touchdown-scoring drive of the game when he connected with Nick O'Leary for a score.

He was selected in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Pittsburgh but Sunday's action was his first in the professional ranks.
