The Minnesota Vikings have taken quarterback Teddy Bridgewater off the physically unable to perform list and placed Sam Bradford on injured reserve.

Bridgewater has been on the sidelines since badly injuring his left knee during practice more than 14 months ago, when he suffered a dislocated knee and torn ACL.

That prompted the Vikings to trade first and fourth-round picks to the Eagles for Bradford, who had become surplus to requirements in Philadelphia after the team moved up in the 2016 draft to get Carson Wentz at No 2 overall.

Bradford threw for a career-best 3,877 yards in 2016 but aggravated an old knee injury in Week 1 of this season, when he threw for 346 yards with three touchdowns during a 29-19 win over the New Orleans Saints.

The former No 1 overall draft pick returned to the line-up in Week 5 at Chicago but re-aggravated the injury and was replaced by Case Keenum after being sacked four times.
