The Miami Dolphins have traded London-born running-back Jay Ajayi to the NFL-leading Philadelphia Eagles.
Ajayi heads to the Eagles, who are the only team with seven wins so far this season, for a fourth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
The 24-year-old ran for 1,272 yards and eight touchdowns in his second NFL season, securing a place in the Pro Bowl, but has failed to replicate that kind of production this year on a struggling Dolphins offense that has so far only scored 92 points in seven games.
A combination of niggling injuries and ineffective blocking have limited Ajayi to 465 yards, although 252 of that total came in only two games against the Los Angeles Chargers and Atlanta Falcons.
The Eagles already ranked fifth in total rushing this season, but they have spread their carries around and only managed to score four touchdowns on the ground.
LeGarrette Blount had managed 467 yards on 100 carries to lead their rushing corps and could now share the majority of carries with Ajayi.
The Eagles head into a week nine date against the Denver Broncos as the only team in the NFL with a 7-1 record - they have won their last six games led by impressive sophomore quarterback Carson Wentz.
