The NFL has upheld the one-game suspension handed out to Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch.

Lynch was ejected during the first half of Thursday's win over the Kansas City Chiefs after he ran on to the field and made contact with an official.

He was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct after trying to separate Chiefs cornerback - and close friend - Marcus Peters from a scrum and later handed a suspension.

His appeal was heard on Monday, with Peters involved in the conference call as he tried to plead with appeals officer James Thrash to overturn the decision.

But Lynch's ban was allowed to stand and he will miss the Raiders' week-eight clash with the Buffalo Bills.
