Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers could miss the rest of the season after breaking his right collarbone, the team have announced.
Rodgers suffered the injury in the first quarter of the game against Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
The 33-year-old had just released a right-handed pass when he took a powerful hit from Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr.
Rodgers landed on his right arm, and received immediate medical attention. He was then assessed on the sideline, before being carted to the locker room.
Rodgers will be missed, as shown last week when he rallied the Packers to a dramatic victory against Dallas.
The victory took Green Bay to 4-1, the NFL's second-best record, trailing only unbeaten Kansas City.
Rodgers was the Super Bowl's Most Valuable Player in 2011 when he led the Packers to a 31-25 victory over Pittsburgh for the NFL title, their first in 14 seasons.
