New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr could be out for the season after suffering a broken ankle on Sunday.
The 24-year-old is one of the top receivers in the NFL and his loss is a major blow to a team who have endured a terrible start to the campaign.
Beckham scored a touchdown to give the Giants a fourth-quarter lead during their Sunday clash with the Los Angeles Chargers.
However, he failed to haul in another catch later in the fourth quarter and came down very awkwardly on his left ankle, as the pass fell incomplete.
Having received treatment, Beckham was carted off the field, clearly in a great amount of pain, and he became the fourth Giants receiver to be hurt on the day.
And it was later announced that Beckham had suffered a fractured ankle and will undergo an MRI to see if he has suffered any ligament damage.
The Giants have not yet said whether the injury will end the wide receiver's season, with further news expected in the next 24 hours.
To cap a dismal day for the New York side, the Chargers went on to win 27-22, leaving the Giants 0-5 for the year.
