In the final week of the NFL's regular season, two final play-off spots were confirmed.
The Washington Redskins' 19-10 home loss against the New York Giants guaranteed post-season action for both the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers, while the New England Patriots clinched home-field advantage with victory over the Miami Dolphins.
However, as is customary in the NFL, there were some strange events that took place throughout the league. After being called for a face mask penalty, safety Mike Mitchell remonstrated with officials in the highest voice possible!
Elsewhere, Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib ripped a gold chain from Michael Crabtree's neck, during Denver's 24-6 win over the Oakland Raiders. According to reports, Talib had been "bothered" by the chain all season, and warned the wide receiver that he would take it.
Tony Romo returned for the Dallas Cowboys, throwing a three-yard touchdown pass to Terrance Williams on his only series of the game.
There were quarterback struggles in Seattle as both Russell Wilson and back up Trevone Boykin failed to release the ball correctly, causing panic amongst the offensive line!
