Los Angeles Rams extend head coach Jeff Fisher's contract

SANTA CLARA, CA - SEPTEMBER 12: Head coach Jeff Fisher of the Los Angeles Rams looks on during their NFL game against the Los Angeles Rams at Levi's Stadi

Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher has been rewarded with a two-year extension to his contract, running through till 2018.

Fisher is in his fifth season with the Rams, with the first four while the franchise was based in St Louis, and he has presided over a 31-43-1 record in that time.

Before then, Fisher led the Tennessee Titans for 15 years, including taking them to Super Bowl XXXIV in 2000, where they lost 23-16 to the Rams.

But while with the Rams, Fisher is yet to coach the team to a winning record, and the franchise itself has failed to make the playoffs since 2004.
