After a long and harmonious relationship with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, star wide receiver Dez Bryant is getting used to a new passer.
Dak Prescott took over following Romo's back injury at the start of the season, and has never given up his position, leading the Cowboys to 11 straight wins and a first placed ranking in the NFC.
It looked as if Bryant and Prescott might not click, with the QB preferring to target Cole Beasley, or use rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott in the opening weeks. Bryant went the first two games without a touchdown, before missing four games with a knee injury.
However, since returning after the Cowboys' bye, a now-healthy Brytant has enjoyed an increased role. The seven-year veteran has five touchdowns in his last six games, as well as four 80+ total yardage performances.
Against the Minnesota Vikings, Bryant added 84 yards which included a 56-yard catch to take the Cowboys to within 10 yards of the end zone. Dallas scored on the resulting play as Elliott charged in for a one-yard score.
In the fourth quarter Bryant also had a touchdown, the 65th of his career, taking him level with Hall of Famer Michael Irvin on the Cowboys' all-time scorers list.
Dallas went on to beat the Vikings 17-15, and can clinch a play-off place this weekend if either the Washington Redskins or Tampa Bay Buccaneers lose.
