The Miami Dolphins are slated to host the New Orleans Saints in London as part of next season's NFL International Series.
The Dolphins, whose London-born running back Jay Ajayi has passed 200 yards in each of his last two games, played at Wembley in 2015 when they were beaten 27-14 by the New York Jets.
New Orleans have not played at Wembley since 2008 when they beat the San Diego Chargers 37-32 in only the third NFL game played in London.
The league has played three games in London for the last three years, with the first game played at Twickenham earlier this month between the New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams.
But next season could see that schedule expanded to four games, with the Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars already expected to play home games in London in 2017.
NFL UK's managing director Alistair Kirkwood said: "We've got probably another two or three weeks of work to figure out if it will be three or four games and we'e hoping to announce it sometime around Thanksgiving.
"It's partly stadium availability and it's partly getting teams to give up home games.
"There's a bit of a soap opera behind the scenes and there has been so many matchups I thought we were going to have over the years that we didn't get. This is the time when I get to play fantasy football."
