The Denver Broncos have chosen to wear white uniforms against the Carolina Panthers at Super Bowl 50.
As the official home side for the season finale in California, the Broncos were able to select which uniforms to wear and chose not to play in their unlucky orange strip.
In their usual orange attire, the Broncos have lost four Super Bowls - against the Dallas Cowboys in 1978, the Washington Redskins in 1988, the San Francisco 49ers in 1990 and the Seattle Seahawks in 2014.
Although Denver also lost Super Bowl XXI to the New York Giants while wearing white, they have a 1-1 record in their alternative clothing having lifted the Vince Lombardi Trophy in 1999 against the Atlanta Falcons. The Broncos wore blue for their Super Bowl XXXII triumph.
The Panthers, as a result, will wear black uniforms in California in a fortnight. In their only other Super Bowl appearance, the Panthers were defeated in 2004 by the New England Patriots - wearing their own white uniforms.
