The New England Patriots scored a touchdown on their opening drive in overtime to win Super Bowl LI, claiming their fifth Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Then in the first ever overtime in the Super Bowl, the Patriots swiftly marched down the field for the game-winning score.
Despite White's three touchdowns and 139 all-purpose yards, quarterback Tom Brady was named Super Bowl MVP for his 466-yard and two-TD performance.
It helped him secure a fifth Super Bowl ring - a record among quarterbacks - and he celebrated with coach Bill Belichick, who led the team to all of those victories, shortly after their win was confirmed.
