Helen Housby has agreed to join New South Wales Swifts for next year's National Netball League season in Australia.

The 21-year-old England shooter has spent the last few seasons with Manchester Thunder, but will become the latest homegrown player to test herself in the southern hemisphere when she links up with the Swifts.

She will come up against two familiar faces as fellow international Jade Clarke is returning to Adelaide Thunderbirds, who appointed Dan Ryan as head coach after he left Thunder in the summer.

Housby finished top of the Vitality Netball Superleague table with Thunder, but they were denied the title after suffering defeat to Surrey Storm in the Grand Final.

Her decision to depart Manchester comes just a few weeks after Natalie Haythornthwaite decided to leave Thunder to join new franchise Severn Stars.
