Karen Greig has been appointed Manchester Thunder's Director of Netball, replacing Dan Ryan.
Greig was previously Ryan's assistant coach but now makes the step up after he departed Manchester to join Adelaide Thunderbirds.
Greig has been involved with Thunder since 2002 and has also acted as assistant to Tracey Neville during her stint in charge.
"When the opportunity came up it was just something I couldn't turn down," she said. "Thunder is in my blood and accepting this position means that I can continue to build on the successes since its resurrection over the past eight years.
"I have both played and coached with the coaches before me and I am keen to build and develop the legacies they have left.
"I am hoping to bring together the best of before and put my own spin on things. I am a very competitive and driven person and coach. I hate losing and will ensure I integrate my values into the Thunder way moving forwards."
