Hertfordshire Mavericks shooter Sammy Wallace has claimed the Sky Sports Vitality Superleague Player of the Season award.
In a keenly fought contest, the Mavericks ace pipped Manchester Thunder and England centre Sara Bayman by just 1 per cent as over 16,500 fans cast their vote.
Sky Sports revealed the nominations a fortnight ago and voting ended at midday on Friday May 6 with Trinidad and Tobago international Wallace coming out on top with 36 per cent to Bayman's 35 per cent.
Wallace, who joined Mavericks ahead of the Superleague season in January, recorded a shooting average of 89 per cent making 438 of her 491 attempts across the season and her nerve under the post was key part of Mavericks run to the semi-final.
Mavericks missed out on a place in the Grand Final after losing a thrilling last four encounter against Surrey who went on to claim the title with a 55-53 victory over Manchester Thunder on Saturday at London's Copper Box.
Loughborough's Ama Agbeze who took third spot while Surrey Storm centre Sophia Candappa and Team Bath's Karla Mostert completed the list of nominees.
