Jamal Murray scored 21 fourth-quarter points, including two late three-pointers, as the Denver Nuggets beat the San Antonio Spurs 114-105 in Game 2 to level their first-round playoff series at 1-1.
Murray missed his first eight shots of the game but got hot with the game on the line.
He hit five consecutive shots in the fourth quarter, including a fadeaway jumper, a step-back for two and a pair of free throws that gave Denver a 99-97 lead, their first since the first quarter.
After Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan tied the game, Murray hit another shot and then a free throw off a technical on San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich to give the Nuggets a 102-99 lead with 3:41 left.
The Nuggets held a three-point advantage going into the final three minutes before the red-hot Murray stepped up again to seal the win.
With the shot clock running down, Murray raced around a Nikola Jokic screen to collect the ball and launch a towering three-pointer as the buzzer sounded to extend Denver's lead to six with 2:31 remaining.
After a Spurs miss, Murray was on target from downtown again, pulling up at the three-point line to nail another clutch triple that extended the Nuggets' lead to nine and restored parity in the series.
Murray added another pull-up jumper with 1:48 left to finish the game with 24 points on 8-of-17 shooting, the perfect response to his disappointing 17-points, 8-of-23 performance in Game 1.
