Boston's Jayson Tatum and Philadelphia center Joel Embiid posted double-doubles as the Celtics recorded a statement road win over the 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center.
Tatum contributed 20 points on 7-of-15 shooting and pulled down 10 rebounds as the Celtics overcame the absence of Kyrie Irving to record a 112-109 win over their Atlantic Division rivals in Philadelphia.
Embiid racked up a team-high 23 points on 9-of-22 shooting and led the way for Philly on the boards too, corralling 14 rebounds.
Both players had an impact at the defensive end early in the game, Embiid emphatically rejected a Marcus Morris lay-up and Tatum denying Tobias Harris at the rim.
Tatum's highlight of the night came in the third quarter when he drove into the lane, left Embiid flat-footed with a deft spin move and rose to hammer home a right-handed dunk.
Embiid converted a three-point play with 2:11 left in the game to give the Sixers a 103-102 lead but Marcus Smart's vicious dunk with 23.9 seconds remaining earned a decisive 108-104 advantage and sealed the win for Boston.
