The Nuggets continue to impress after a franchise-best 21-9 start to the season and are currently leading the Western Conference standings.
They are led by Nikola Jokic who, with season averages of 17.7 points, 9.9 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game, has established himself as one of the league's elite-level players and played himself into the regular season MVP conversation.
The Clippers led the way in Western Conference earlier in the season but a four-game losing streak has seen them overhauled by the Nuggets, Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder. They're still in the playoff places, however, and rediscovered the winning formula with a 125-121 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night.
The Clippers, coached by Doc Rivers, lack a superstar player but have one of the most balanced offenses in the league. Tobias Harris is their leading scorer and is ably supported by the sharpshooting Danilo Gallinari, sixth man Lou Willams and breakout star Montrezl Harrell.
