Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner suffered a broken nose during Monday's 116-108 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.
Turner will be re-evaluated on Tuesday although there was no immediate word regarding whether he will miss any games.
"The hope is that he doesn't have a concussion," Indiana coach Nate McMillan said.
"He can play with a broken nose - just put a mask on. But if there's a concussion there, then that's something a little different."
Turner was injured when he took a hit to the face from Atlanta's John Collins while contesting a shot. He exited with 4:44 remaining in the third quarter and did not return.
Turner scored 20 points in 23 minutes before leaving. He was seven of nine from the field, including three of four from three-point range, and collected eight rebounds, four assists and four blocked shots. He was in good spirits after the contest.
"It's just a little sore right now," Turner said in a post-game interview. "I'm going to get it checked out even more tomorrow, but I'm not overly concerned about it. I know I'm going to have a wear a mask."
Shooting guard Victor Oladipo said wearing a mask shouldn't be an issue.
"Don't worry, I've worn a mask before," Oladipo said in a post-game interview. "I'll give him some pointers. The mask has secret powers, so he'll be all right."
