The 33-year-old forward scored 20 points - 16 of which came in a dominant first-half performance - and grabbed 11 rebounds as he saw off all comers.
A dunk over JaVale McGee, a smooth jump shot over LeBron James and a tough finish through contact with Tyson Chandler helped set the Nuggets up for a record 32-point victory over the Lakers.
Millsap was equally impressive at the other end, emphatically swatting away a Brandon Ingram attempt just before the interval.
