UFC two-weight champion Conor McGregor will not return to the Octagon until next summer.
McGregor made history last weekend by becoming the first UFC fighter to hold two titles simultaneously when he defeated Eddie Alvarez to add the lightweight title to his featherweight crown.
The Dubliner was fighting for the fourth time in 12 months but MMA fans will have to wait to see their hero in action again as he is planning to take time off to become a father.
UFC president Dana White confirmed in an interview with the LA Times that 'Notorious' will take time away from the sport to focus on his family.
"He won't fight before May," said White.
"His girlfriend gets super stressed out when he fights. He doesn't want her having any of that stress while she's pregnant.
"He's good. He should take time off. He's been fighting nonstop. Nothing wrong with him taking time off. It's good for him and her and it's good for the baby."
