Irish cycling team Aqua Blue Sport says its team bus was burned in an arsonist attack in southeastern Spain while it competed in La Vuelta.
Aqua Blue posted photos of its wrecked bus on social media with the message: "Our team bus has been completely damaged in a cowardly arson attack overnight."
The team added no one was injured in the fire and local police had arrested a suspect.
Aqua Blue were spending the night in a hotel after the 11th stage of the Vuelta when the incident took place.
It is believed the bus was parked overnight outside the Tryp Indalo Hotel in Almeria and was set alight overnight on Wednesday, causing extreme damage to the exterior and interior of the vehicle.
Numerous teams riding in La Vuelta were quick to offer their help and support to Aqua Blue, whose participation in the 2017 Vuelta a Espana is the first time the squad has competed in a Grand Tour.
The race, currently led by Chris Froome, concludes on September 10.
