Jess Varnish is "shocked, upset and bewildered", according to her solicitor, after just one of her nine complaints against former technical director Shane Sutton was upheld following an investigation by British Cycling.

The governing body said in October that former Olympian Varnish's complaint of "inappropriate and discriminatory language" against Sutton had been upheld.

A document leaked on Wednesday revealed that the British Cycling board had found that it was probable Sutton had used the term "bitches" to the 26-year-old.

Sutton, who has maintained his innocence since stepping down in April after the allegations were made against him, was however cleared of any bullying allegations.

Varnish claimed Sutton told her to "go and have a baby" as well as criticising her body shape and weight, but those specific claims were not upheld.

Only one item needed to be upheld for the overall ruling to go against Sutton, however Simon Fenton, Varnish's solicitor, expressed the disappointment of the British cyclist and demanded the release of the full report.

"Well, she is shocked, upset and frankly bewildered," Fenton told Sky Sports News HQ

"We provided substantial evidence, in good faith, but we don't know how they dealt with it, who else they spoke to or how they came to their conclusions because they have not released the full report, only a summary of the findings.

"The only thing we can do is to demand to see the full report. Until that is released this saga just will not go away.

"When we've seen it, we'll know what to do, to appeal to who knows. My understanding is that Shane Sutton is demanding the same, we all want to see how they came to their conclusions because frankly they've satisfied no-one."

A separate, independent review of the culture in British Cycling is due to be published in the near future and Fenton hopes the release of those findings will provide those involved in the case with closure.

He added: "There is definitely more to come, we hope that the independent review takes a fairer look at the whole thing and we have not a huge amount of faith in the British Cycling's own internal investigation.

"I don't think it will be resolved to everyone's satisfaction, but as long as it's resolved to somebody's satisfaction because at the moment it hasn't been resolved to anyone satisfaction."
