Preview of the opening round of the Revolution Champions League

Olympic champions Elia Viviani and Peter Kennaugh will represent Team Sky in the Revolution Champions League in Manchester on 25-26 November.

Team Sky are one of seven UCI WorldTour teams taking part and will be looking to get off to a strong start in the two-leg competition.

Viviani proved his track credentials by winning the Olympic omnium title in Rio, while Kennaugh was an Olympic team pursuit champion in 2012.

Viviani said: "If we go with a good condition in the last part of November and for the final at the start of December, then I think we have a really strong team with lots of Olympic champions, so I think that Team Sky could be very competitive.

"However, I also think Team WIGGINS will be very strong. They have Owain [Doull] in the team this year and with all their other riders, they will be really strong on the track."
