The Chinese fighter was a decorated K-1 athlete who came into ONE this year on a 20-bout winning run.
He beat former world champion Hiroki Akimoto to book his shot at Haggerty's title.
Haggerty has held the kickboxing title since he knocked out Fabricio Andrade in 2023. Victory over Rui will keep him in top-level competition as a natural rival for Scotland's Nico Carrillo.
Carrillo is the top Muay Thai contender who will next challenge Superlek, live on Sky Sports on January 24.
There is ONE Championship action coming up this Friday too with Freddie Haggerty, Jonathan's brother, fighting Thailand's Kaoklai Chor Hapaya live on Sky Sports' digital platforms.
