Dustin Johnson's third-round scorecard at The Open will show that he made a birdie. But what it will not reveal is that he unleashed a mammoth drive of close to 400 yards, found the green and two-putted for a three.
Johnson started the day seven behind halfway leader Phil Mickelson and made a steady start with five pars around a birdie at the fourth, and he decided to take the risk/reward approach at the downwind par-four seventh.

And the move paid off in spectacular style as his drive pitched on a bank to the right of the fairway just short of the green, narrowly avoided a pot bunker and rolled onto the putting surface.
Johnson's fellow American JB Holmes was lining up a putt just as the ball found the green, although Holmes looked relatively unsurprised when he realised it was hit by the US Open champion.
But having found the green almost 400 yards away, Johnson left his eagle putt short!
