Open leader Phil Mickelson and his closest challenger Henrik Stenson both feature in our selection of top shots from the second day at Royal Troon.
Despite wet and blustery conditions hampering the field after a glorious, benign opening day, we saw a number of high-quality shots including three close calls for a hole-in-one on the Postage Stamp.
Mickelson, Jim Furyk and Martin Kaymer were all a couple of inches away from making thrilling aces at the historic, 123-yard par three, with Furyk's ball just a revolution or two away from dropping into the cup.
We also saw a number of world-class bunker escapes on Friday, with Brandt Snedeker, Stenson and Bubba Watson all grazing the hole with their sand-splashes.
Defending champion Zach Johnson produced a brilliant chip-in for birdie, while Kaymer features again as he holed a huge putt from off the green, although the German's progress was later halted by a triple-bogey seven at the 10th.
And Ryder Cup captain Darren Clarke pulled off comfortably the best approach to the final green, and was unlucky not to sign off with a rare eagle-two.
