The Open: Tiger Woods misses cut but will continue to try and regain his game

Tiger Woods vowed to keep working on his game after missing back-to-back cuts at major championships for the first time in his career.
Woods, who is mired in the worst slump of his career, carded 75 in his second round of the 144th Open at St Andrews to finish on seven over, in a tie for 147th place in a 156-strong field.
The former world No 1 needed a miracle when play restarted on Saturday after a lengthy delay because of high winds, but bogeys at the 14th and 15th put paid to any slim hopes he had of playing at the weekend.
And it was a meek Woods who waved at the crowds as he walked up the 18th hole at the Old Course, a venue that witnessed two of his greatest triumphs in 2000 and 2005.
"Well, I think I only made three birdies in two days. That's not very good. The golf course wasn't playing that hard. I just didn't get much out of any of the two rounds," he said.
"You know, it's kind of funny because I hit the ball solid. It's just that it wasn't getting through the wind.
"I don't know what was causing that, and it's something that we're going to have to take a look at.
"I've won here a couple times. I wasn't all that great in 2010. Obviously a little bit worse here in 2015.
"Next time it comes around, hopefully I play a little bit better than I did the last two times. I'll probably have less hair then and hopefully a little better game."
Coming into the tournament, Woods was still confident he could make ground on Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 major championships.
But he was only able to offer a brief response when asked what his next step would be, saying: "Keep going. Keep going forward.
"On the very first hole on the first day I 'fat' a sand wedge in the water; I 'fatted' my three-iron off the tee, and then I 'fatted' my eight-iron into the green on two; drove it in a divot on four.
"It was just one thing after another. I had my opportunities, I just didn't get the ball close enough, and then when I did, I didn't make them. It's frustrating, there's no doubt, because I'm not making those runs.
"I play in a couple weeks in (Washington) D.C., so looking forward to playing the Quicken Loans, and hopefully win that event so I can get into a place that I know very well."
