Chip-in eagles, crucial putts and an array of impressive birdies feature in the top shots from the final round of The 145th Open.
Mickelson, holding the one-shot lead, got the ball rolling by stiffing his approach to the first to leave a gimme birdie, before Stenson responded with several smart shots to reach the turn ahead.
With Stenson's putter red-hot, Mickelson needed to create a moment of magic to stay in the hunt through the back nine and duly responded with a vital putt at the 12th.
But it was the Swede who pulled away over the closing stretch, delivering some memorable shots along the way to his an eight-under 63 .
Away from the leading pair, a long-range drain from Matthew Southgate makes the cut, as do stunning efforts from Ryan Palmer and Masters champion Danny Willett.
