Danny Willett and Patrick Reed lead the way in our selection of the best shots from the riveting action on day two of the 41st Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National...
WILLETT CHIPS IN
Danny Willett showed the type of short-game skills that made him a Masters champion earlier this year as he defied a tough lie in the lush rough to chip in for an unlikely birdie at the second. Unfortunately for Willett, he and Lee Westwood could not avoid a fourballs defeat to JB Holmes and Ryan Moore.
REED'S EXPLOSIVE EAGLE
A pumped-up Patrick Reed was in inspired form in his fourballs win alongside Jordan Spieth, and this stunning eagle from the fairway was part of a remarkable run which earned the Americans four straight wins from the fourth against Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson.
STENSON LEAVES IT LATE
The Open champion did his best to stave off defeat in the above match as he pitched in for eagle at the 16th to extend the contest, but it merely delayed the inevitable.
MICKELSON'S MONSTER
Phil Mickelson remains a fan favourite at any event and still has the ability to conjure up a piece of magic when you least expect it, such as this mammoth putt that produced one of the loudest cheers of the day.
PIETERS MATCHES FOWLER
The opening hole of the second day gave an indication of the drama to come, as Rickie Fowler binned a big putt for birdie before Thomas Pieters silenced the galleries by following him in.
