Justin Rose gets Ryder Cup underway with perfect tee shot
Last Updated: 30/09/16 4:56pm
Justin Rose signals the start of the 2016 Ryder Cup and finds the middle of the fairway with his opening tee shot.
Rose, playing alongside Henrik Stenson, stepped up in front of a raucous crowd at Hazeltine and had the nerve-racking task of striking the first ball of the competition.
The gold medal winner from Rio used his experience to good effect to silence the home crowd with a wonderful strike with his driver.
Commentator Ewen Murray called it "a gold medal tee shot from Justin".
Their opponents Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed followed Rose and Stenson down the middle of the fairway and they ended up halving the hole.
Remember, all three days are live from first tee to last on the Sky Sports Ryder Cup channel, starting from 12.30pm on Friday, with the coverage available on the move via SkyGo.
