Sergio Garcia says the criticism of the European team has provided even more motivation for Darren Clarke's side to retain the Ryder Cup this week.
Former major winner and American commentator Johnny Miller claimed last week that Europe, who will have six Ryder Cup rookies in their side, had "the worst team they've had in many years".
But Garcia, who is playing in his eighth Ryder Cup having celebrated five European wins, insists the team are confident of extending their winning streak having not lost since 2008.
"You don't win Ryder Cups with your mouth," he said. "You win them out there on the golf course. So that's what we'll see, which team is the best.
"Johnny says a lot of things. Obviously he's not always going to say the right thing.
"You know what they say, opinions are like ... we all have one," said Garcia. "So everybody's allowed to have their own opinion, and that's what they think, and that's great for them."
