Tyrrell Hatton says all credit for his performance at the PGA Championship goes to his father.
The 24-year-old Englishman posted scores of 71, 68 and 66 before a final round 68 to finish on seven under for the week, making him the joint-highest placed Brit alongside Paul Casey.
Three birdies on the back nine, including two back-to-back at 17 and 18, saw him make amends for a bogey a bogey at the seventh and gives him a chance of a top 10 finish for the second major in succession.
"It's all down to my Dad, he's my coach and he helped me a lot the week of the Scottish Open and I've just taken confidence from that," Hatton told Sky Sports. "I tried to keep my swing going in the week off before this and I feel like I've played well this week. I'm really happy with that score and hopefully that will be a top 10 at a major again and that's really good."
While he was able to go under par for the third round on the spin, Hatton admitted that Sunday's round was something of a challenge for him.
"I'm obviously really happy with that," added Hatton. "To be honest, today's round was a struggle for me, I didn't swing it as well as I had done the previous three days.
"I'm just really happy with that finish because I feel like I ground out a good score in the end."
