A guide to the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, venue for the Players Championship.
Hole 1: 423 yards, Par 4: A huge bunker and a lake wait for any errant drives right, and dense trees guard the left. The green is protected well by sand to the front and to the left.
Hole 2: 532 yards, Par 5: Most players will reach in two if they avoid sand and water to the right. Obvious chance to get under the card early on.
Hole 3: 177 yards, Par 3: Club selection is vital to avoid the huge sweeping bunker at the front of a two-tiered green. Another small bunker waits for anything leaked to the left.
Hole 4: 384 yards, Par 4: A dangerous short hole with a treacherous two-tiered green guarded by water at the front and bunkers right and behind.
Hole 5: 471 yards, Par 4: A dogleg right with a generous landing area, but the approach to a deep, narrow and heavily protected green is fraught with danger. Birdies are rare here.
Hole 6: 393 yards, Par 4: Trees right, bunkers and water left make for a tricky drive. The elevated green slopes right to left and is very tough to read.
Hole 7: 442 yards, Par 4: A large driving area, although a huge bunker and a lake wait to the left. More traps guard the front and left of the green, which slopes off the back.
Hole 8: 237 yards, Par 3: A long iron needed to find the deep, sloping green which is heavily guarded by maintained bunkers and run-off areas.
Hole 9: 583 yards, Par 5: A large lake and bunker to the right of the fairway. while the approach is hindered by large oak trees. Only the boldest will go for the narrow green in two.
Hole 10: 424 yards, Par 4: Another huge bunker protects the left of the fairway, and two more guard the front right of a very deceptive, narrow green.
Hole 11: 558 yards, Par 5: A long drive to the right of the fairway needed to reach in two. The approach is hindered by overhanging trees, and a lake waits at the rear of the green.
Hole 12: 358 yards, Par 4: The tee shot is vital to set up the best angle into a heavily-guarded green, which is one of the smallest on the course.
Hole 13: 181 yards, Par 3: Water runs the length of this hole to the left, while the three tiered green slopes toward the lake. The green is also guared by two small, deep bunkers.
Hole 14: 481 yards, Par 4: A bunker runs the length of a narrow fairway to the left. The huge, undulating green is hard to hold if the drive is errant.
Hole 15: 449 yards, Par 4: A treacherous drive over water and through trees with another huge fairway bunker on the right. Deep traps protect both sides of a wide, shallow green.
Hole 16: 523 yards, Par 5: Reachable in two for most, but water wraps half the green and a sweeping bunker guards the right of the putting surface.
Hole 17: 137 yards, Par 3: The most renowned short hole in world golf. Club selection is vital to hit an island green with a small, deep trap at the front. Nerves can be shattered here.
Hole 18: 462 yards, Par 4: Water runs the entire length of this treacherous dogleg left. Stroke index 1, and one of the toughest finishing holes in the world.
