David Howell might not be a Masters champion but the five-time European Tour winner avoided a repeat of Sergio Garcia's water troubles at Augusta National.

Sky Sports presenter Nick Dougherty was joined by Howell and Billy Foster for Masters Breakfast and they reflected on the Spaniard's 13 at the par-five 15th during the first round, before the two-time Ryder Cup player took to the Shot Centre for his own try at the approach shot to the green.

Howell managed to show good accuracy under the spotlight and flicked his effort to the right portion of the green, before the contours of the renowned greens saw the ball roll back towards the pin.

Dougherty joked he was disappointed with the good outcome for his former Tour counterpart, while Foster gave some good insight into the difficulties caddies face when their players are faced with a tricky predicament.

"You know how difficult the shot is. Once you have done it first that is your first opportunity, while Sergio has still not got the red mist, to maybe say go a little further back," Foster said.

"I have caddied for Sergio and at Augusta and when he puts his golf shoes on, his spikes are on the inside! You aren't going to stop him."
