Augusta member Jeff Knox will get to play another 36 holes over the weekend of the Masters, and the first 18 will be alongside two-time champion Bubba Watson.

Knox serves as the official tournament marker when an odd number of players make the halfway cut, although he appeared set to miss out this year until Zach Johnson was issued a two-shot penalty for an infringement on the 13th in the second round.

That meant the weekend field was reduced to 57 players and allowed Knox the chance to go out in the first group with Watson, who scraped into the third round via the 10-shot rule.

Knox famously played alongside Rory McIlroy in the 2014 Masters and fired a two-under 70 against McIlroy's 71, and the Northern Irishman admitted he learned a lot from from watching Knox handle the greens.

Jim Furyk once said that Knox, now 49, could probably "beat half the players who made the cut" due to his local knowledge, although it helps that he is on the greens committee.
