Johnston's infectious character and outgoing personality have made him a firm favourite with golf fans all over the world, as he proved when it took him over four hours to play 11 holes on Tuesday as he kept the masses of autograph hunters happy.

The 27-year-old explains how his win in Spain gave him more belief in his abilities, and how he has enjoyed being regularly pitched against the world's best players in the majors and WGCs.
