Rory McIlroy took out his anger on one of his clubs in a remarkable fit of temper during the second round of the WGC-Cadillac Championship.
Following his erratic, opening 73, the second round started a lot brighter for the world No 1 when he birdied the first two holes only to give both shots back at the third - where he pushed his drive into water - and fourth holes.
McIlroy got back under the card for the day at seven, and he hit an excellent drive on the par-five eighth and left himself 222 yards to the flag.
But any hopes of an eagle or birdie disappeared when he pulled his approach into the lake, and his temper boiled over as he flung the offending club, his three-iron, into the water as well.
And, as if to rub salt into McIlroy's wounds, playing partner Bubba Watson came within an inch of holing his sublime second for a rare albatross moments later.
