Benjamin Hebert pulled into a three-stroke lead after a remarkable finish to his third round at the Volvo China Open.
The Frenchman fired six birdies and an eagle in a stunning back-nine 28 to close out an eight-under 64 and race ahead of the chasing pack at Genzon Golf Club.
Hebert's back nine is the lowest of the season on the European Tour and takes him to 17 under, with Mikko Korhonen and Jorge Campillo his closest challengers in tied-second.
Korhonen birdied the last three holes of his third-round 64 and Campillo carded a three-under 68, while overnight leader Ashun Wu sits in fourth after a level-par 72.
Hebert started the day four strokes off the pace and reached the turn level-par after bogeying the par-five ninth, only to post back-to-back gains from the 10th and add another from tap-in range at the 13th.
The six-time Challenge Tour winner posted successive birdies from the 15th and drained a 30-foot eagle at the 17th to move top of the leaderboard, before picking up a shot at the par-four last to secure a 54-hole lead for the first time on the European Tour.
Wu began three clear and briefly extended his lead to four strokes until he made four consecutive bogeys from the 12th, while former Ryder Cup player Victor Dubuisson is five strokes back after a third 68 in as many days.
