Former Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt takes on the "Beat the Pro" challenge at the KLM Open

Dirk Kuyt was well-known for regularly finding the target during his successful football career, but could the Dutchman deliver similar success on the golf course?

The former Liverpool striker was one of a number of amateur golfers to take on the "Beat The Pro" challenge at the KLM Open, held at the par-three 14th for the opening three rounds.

Once the pros hit their tee shots in front of the stadium crowd, it was left to the amateurs to be introduced to the crowd to take part in a nearest-the-pin challenge.

Tournament sponsors KLM were offering two return flights to anywhere in Europe for those to beat the professional, with Kuyt among those to take on the challenge.

After watching compatriot and defending champion Joost Luiten safely find the green with his effort at The Dutch, Kuyt attempted to fire his iron shot even closer to the flag?
