If awards were given out for the best sporting campaign video of the year, then Billy Hurley III would surely be the winner for his hilarious attack on Jordan Spieth.
Hurley was competing with Spieth to be elected as chairman of the PGA Tour's Player Advisory Council earlier this week, prompting Hurley to produce a video in the style of a Presidential campaign.
Loosely titled "Golden Man vs Golden Child", Hurley describes the virtues and benefits of having a "common man" in charge of the PAC rather than an "elitist" player such as world No 3 Spieth.
The light-hearted feature labels Spieth as "pathetic", a "thief" and "disgusting" - a reference to the memorable moment in which Spieth holed a huge putt en route to victory at The Open last year and telling caddie Michael Greller to "go get that"!
Hurley began this week's Genesis Open ranked 269 places below Spieth in the world rankings, although he got off to a confident start with a two-under 69 despite a bogey-bogey finish at Riviera Country Club.
But the talk of the town all week has been his spoof attack on Spieth, who took the joke in good heart and even told Hurley via Twitter that "you have my vote", while Greller also enjoyed the parody and admitted he was "tired of having to go get that"!
Unfortunately for Hurley, his campaign did not benefit his case as Spieth was duly elected chairman!
