Tiger Woods returns to a familiar hunting ground this week when he begins his year at Torrey Pines for the Farmers Insurance Open.
Woods begins a run of four tournaments in a five-week stretch in California, having made just one competitive start since his last PGA Tour appearance in August 2015.
The 41-year-old heads to San Diego full of confidence, with Woods a seven-time winner of the event held at the venue where he also claimed the most recent of his 14 major titles.

1991 Junior World Championship
Several years before Woods burst on to the professional scene, the then 15-year-old upstaged players older than him to take the title in the 15 to 17-year-old category.
Woods posted a final-round 69 to claim a three-stroke victory over nearest challenger Chris Riley, who had led with six holes remaining.
1999 Buick Invitational
The first of Woods' nine wins in 1999 came in his fourth start of the year, where he surged up the leaderboard over the weekend to earn a two-shot win.
Woods was nine strokes off the pace at the halfway stage, but posted a third-round 62 and eagled the par-five last in his five-under 65 on Sunday to hold off Billy Ray Brown.
2003 Buick Invitational
Knee surgery over the off-season saw Woods miss the opening events of the calendar year, but he made a winning return in convincing fashion.
A third-round 68 set up a final-round tussle with Phil Mickelson, where he matched his total again to finish four clear of Carl Pettersson.
2005 Buick Invitational
Without a regular PGA Tour win in 15 months and having lost his world No 1 spot to Vijay Singh, Woods claimed a much-needed win without playing his best in the foggy conditions.
Woods trailed by three strokes heading into the final round and was still two adrift with five holes to play, but took advantage of slow finishes from Tom Lehman and Luke Donald to win by three shots.
2006 Buick Invitational
Woods took advantage of an error from Jose Maria Olazabal to sneak victory in a three-way play-off and successfully defend his title.
The pair were joined in extra holes by Nathan Green, who saw his hopes end when he sent his approach in to the grandstand. Olazabal then missed a putt from four feet to hand the American the title.
2007 Buick Invitational
A two-stroke victory over Charles Howell III extended Woods' winning record with a seventh consecutive victory in stroke play events.
As contenders Brandt Snedeker, Andrew Buckle and Jeff Quinney all saw their hopes fade during the final day, Woods drained a 25-foot eagle on the ninth on his way to carding a tournament-winning 66.
2008 Buick Invitational
The first of Woods' seven starts in an injury-hit year saw the American dominate throughout the week on his way to an eight-shot victory.
A final-hole birdie saw Woods close a one-under 71 and complete a 62nd career victory, moving him level with Arnold Palmer in the all-time list.
2008 US Open
The last US Open to go to a Monday play-off saw Woods edge out Rocco Mediate in a thrilling duel to earn a 14th major success.
Woods, playing with a torn ligament in his left knee and a double stress fracture in his left tibia, holed a 12-foot birdie on the 72-hole to take the tournament to extra holes.
The world No 1 birdied the last again in the additional round before snatching victory with a par at the first sudden-death hole.
2013 Farmers Insurance Open
Heavy fog throughout the week had left the tournament requiring a Monday finish, where Woods could afford a stutter along the closing stretch and still win by four strokes.
Eight strokes clear at one stage during the final round, Woods posted two bogeys and a double-bogey over his last five holes but still ended comfortably ahead of Brandt Snedeker and Josh Teater.
