Open de France: Marcus Kinhult leads ahead of Chris Wood, Sergio Garcia

Highlights from the third round of the Open de France at Le Golf National.

Marcus Kinhult will take a two-shot lead into the final round of the Open de France, with Chris Wood and Sergio Garcia part of the chasing pack.

The 21-year-old followed his stunning second-round 65 with a four-under 67 at Le Golf National to get to 10 under and retain his overnight advantage over playing partner Wood.

Garcia fired a round-of-the-day 64 to move within three of the lead, with Jon Rahm a further stroke adrift after finishing his third-round 68 with back-to-back birdies.

"It was a bit of a shaky start, but I hit some good shots and felt better and better over the round," Kinhult told Sky Sports. "It's a hard golf course, but I just tried to stay patient."

Kinhult briefly moved three clear with a chip-in birdie from off the first green, only to find water off the next tee on his way to a double-bogey five.

Garcia followed four birdies in a front-nine 32 with a tap-in gain at the 11th to move alongside Kinhult, as Wood slipped down the leaderboard by double-bogeying the fourth and dropping another shot at the next.

The Swede holed a 25-footer at the fifth to regain top spot and birdied his next four holes to head to the back nine five ahead, while Wood stayed in touch with three birdies and an eagle in a five-hole stretch around the turn.

A two-shot swing at the 13th saw Wood roll in a 15-footer and Kinhult post a three-putt bogey, getting the Englishman within two of the lead, before the pair posted matching birdies at the par-five next.

Garcia fired three consecutive gains from the 14th to get within two of the lead but bogeyed the 18th after finding water off the tee, as Wood nudged in from four feet at the 15th to cut Kinhult's cushion to one.

Kinhult got up-and-down from the rough at the 16th and holed from 10 feet to match Wood's par at the next, with the world No 183 seeing his lead doubled when his playing partner bogeyed the last.

World No 2 Justin Thomas sits six off the pace alongside fellow American Julian Suri, with Alex Noren in the group a further shot back after a six-under 65.
