The 2018 Ryder Cup will be at the forefront of the minds of plenty of European players when they take to the course at the Open de France this week.
Le Golf National will be the host venue for this year's Ryder Cup and this week's European Tour event will provide a great opportunity for some to stake their claim for a place in captain Thomas Bjorn's side.
Here, we take a look at five players in the field at the Open de France who will be hoping to impress...
Olesen is currently fifth on the European Points List and will hope to do enough in the next couple of months to force his way into Bjorn's plans for Team Europe.
Olesen has one win on the European Tour this season, having triumphed at the Italian Open earlier this month ahead of home favourite Francesco Molinari.
The Dane also finished tied-second at the BMW International Open in Germany last weekend and will be hoping to build on that performance in France.
Poulter has become something of a Ryder Cup legend in recent years and his form in that competition will be at the forefront for Bjorn when he is selecting his Captain's Picks.
He is currently 10th on the World Points List and showed some form in the first couple of days at the US Open before slipping away in tricky conditions at the weekend.
There was also an 11th-placed finish at The Players Championship last month and a victory at the Houston Open on the PGA Tour in April.
Fitzpatrick has enjoyed an impressive year to rise into contention for the Ryder Cup. He is currently eighth on the European Points List and ninth on the World Points List.
The 23-year-old was granted a Special Temporary Membership for the rest of the PGA Tour 2017/18 season after finishing tied-12th at the US Open.
It remains to be seen, however, whether Fitzpatrick can force his way into Bjorn's thinking by performing at the Open de France.
Fisher is currently ninth on the European Points List having enjoyed a top-10 finish at the BMW PGA Championship at the end of last month.
His major record in 2018 has not been great as he finished tied-48th and 65th at the US Open and the Masters respectively, but he did finish second at the Abu Dhabi Championship in January.
A missed cut at the Italian Open at the start of June suggests he has got a bit of work to do to make the European team.
Cabrera-Bello is currently 10th on the European Points List having enjoyed a solid year on the European Tour.
The Spaniard has enjoyed top-10 finishes in four events in 2018, including a fourth-place finish at the Italian Open earlier this month.
He also enjoyed a strong end to 2017 as he finished tied-second at the Hong Kong Open and finished in a tie for fourth at The Open at Royal Birkdale last July.
