Justin Rose strips to his underwear to play a shot from the water during the Zurich Classic on New Orleans.

Justin Rose revealed more of his body than expected out on the golf course during a 'brief' encounter with a hazard at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

The Englishman, playing alongside Ryder Cup team-mate Henrik Stenson at TPC Louisiana, found the water off the tee at the par-three third but fancied his chances of playing out of the hazard.

Nine years on from Stenson stripping to his pants to play a shot during the WGC-Cadillac Championship, Rose followed suit for his effort from the water.

With his ball only partially submerged, Rose removed light-coloured trousers and waded into the water wearing just his top and boxer shorts.

"My partner showed me what you've got to do, remember Doral?" Rose said. "He said 'get in there!'"

Although Rose pitched out of the hazard to within 40 feet of the pin, the Olympic gold medallist was unable to get undie-par for the hole as he carded a bogey-four.
