Zurich Classic of New Orleans: Key questions about team event

during round two of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship at Abu Dhabi Golf Club on January 19, 2018 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Team golf makes a rare appearance on the regular PGA Tour this week at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, live on Sky Sports.

The tournament was given a significant overhaul in 2017 and changed to a two-man team event containing 160 players, making it the only team tournament on the PGA Tour, with the same format being used again this week.

Pairs will play best ball for the opening round and then foursomes for the second round, with the lowest 35 teams and ties then progressing through to the weekend.

The teams making the cut will have the opportunity to pick a walk-up song to be played on the first tee, before playing best ball again for Saturday's third round and foursomes on Sunday.

Jonas Blixt and Cameron Smith return to New Orleans as defending champions, having defeated Kevin Kisner and Scott Brown in a Monday play-off at last year's event.
