Jordan Spieth holds a two-shot lead at Augusta after a stunning six-under 66, with a beautiful pitch from the rough helping him leave the par-four last with just a bogey.

Former Masters champion Sandy Lyle rolled back the years with a long-range eagle putt at the 15th, with fellow Green Jacket holders Fred Couples and Phil Mickelson producing a couple of the day's standout shots.

Amateur Doug Ghim signed off his first Masters round in style with an unlikely eagle, while Marc Leishman and Louis Oosthuizen also feature in the best of Thursday's efforts.
